O Holy One

Teach me to walk in Your Holy ways;
even when it's not convenient,
even when it's painful.

Teach me to love with a selfless spirit;
to consider myself low and others high,
to consider myself a servant to all.

Teach me to fear You alone, Almighty One.
You, who conduct lightning to strike where you will,
You, who have destined a spot for each drop of rain to fall upon,
and You, who catch the winds in Your hands and rebuke them to silence.

Though I grasp not Your greatness,
I shudder at the glimpses Your grace reveals to me through Your son Jesus.
They leave me utterly breathless...

My body shall be fully abandoned to You, o Holy One.
For I will think of Your goodness all day and night,
and my heart will rejoice with thankfulness to You my God, and my King.

I thank and praise You late into the night.
Your love endures forever and Your mercies are new every morning.

May You be glorified always!

To You O Lord I Turn

To You O Lord I turn my whole heart,
To You and only You.

My former ways are past;
You are my portion forever.

I will consecrate myself to You, dedicating my
                                                                         thoughts
                                                                                words
                                                                                      actions
And my one and only pursuit to the glory of Your Name, oh Great one!

Your excellent will transcends the purest of ways.

Your knowledge reaches into the depths of the earth and far out beyond the stars -- it is complete.

The wisest of men understands but a fraction of Your goodness, for Your ways are higher and greater than any one man can dare to imagine.

My soul faints before You;
yea, my frail frame fails and I become like a dead man before Your throne.

But You, oh Lifter of my head, restore strength to my feeble bones and breathe into my nostrils the breath of life, which I exhale in praise to You.

Praise the Lord, o my soul, and let every fiber of my body exist in thankfulness to the One in whom I live and move and have my being! Praise the Lord!

Amen.

All Knowing Father

All-knowing Father who reigns on high above the highest mountains of the earth.

The height of Your knowledge traces the sky and its depth examines every valley, even deep into the crevices of my heart. "You have searched me and you know me."

Examine my motives and let there be found none that displease You.

Open my ears and I shall hear; my eyes and I shall see. For I long to know You, as You know me--fully and completely.

Yet, I know You are too wonderful for me, too marvelous to comprehend. Then I pray, merely extend this limit of knowledge.

Let this righteous pursuit to know You continue on for eternity, for I could think of no greater bliss!

Surely, heaven is knowing You!

Be The Source of my Light

Be the Source of my light
and the Train of my thought
the View of my sight
And the Treasure I bought

Be the Calm of my Storm
And the Stars of my night
Be Love in my form
And my Commander in fight

Be Mercy in me
But Fierce Force in the fight
The Breeze that blows through me
When nothing goes right

Be that Something I strive for
At all times, at all cost
The one Thing I die for
When my body has lost

Be the Vessel that takes me
Away from life's tests
The Dock that I reach
When my soul's found its Rest

Peace

Let Your perfect peace rage into my life like an army; invading my soul and overturning the money-tables and cages I have set up on the altar of my heart.

Let Your all-consuming peace devour the vipers of my tongue before they are birthed into existence.

Let the ocean of Your peace drown my mind to the constant evil that dwells therein.

Tie the mill-stone of Your love around my neck, that I may sink deeper and deeper into the depths of Your all-pervading peace.

Oh, that I may freeze in this ocean-deep and become numb to the disease of self-exaltation; the enemy of these waters.

Invade...consume...devour...and drown all that is not peace within me.

Amen

Personal Psalms

Psalm: a song, poem or prayer that exists to glorify God.

I will begin to record my personal psalms of worship to the Lord through this blog. My purpose is that they may awaken worship in your heart to God.

I hope they edify, encourage, and deepen your walk with the Lord.

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you..." James 4:8

Soli Deo Gloria.
